5 loving Cassandra Clare more by each book stars!
I love, love, love this series. There is never a dull moment in these books. The character building from the first book is amazing. This book series is also really hard to review without spoilers!!!
The only thing I was hoping for in this book that I haven’t seen yet is Clary come into her own. To be independent and kick some serious butt. I mean she is always there and in the last book she really held her own but I felt like she was a little weaker in this book. Does her love for Jace make her weaker??? It seems to fuel her throughout all the books, whether this is good or bad has yet to be determined.
This book seems to revolve more around Simon than the shadowhunters. There is nothing wrong with following Simon he has definitely been one of my favorite characters since the beginning of the series. Simon is still Clary’s best friend even though they have been through some recent hard times. He seems to be getting attention for the lovely mark of Cain on his forehead from the previous book. Which leads him to seek help from his shadowhunter friends.
There is a new character in this book. I can’t wait to see where this character is taken in future books. I try to not to do spoilers so if you want to know who the character is then read the book 🙂
