5 off the chart stars!!
This series is totally going to be in my top whatever for 2016 or life. I cannot believe the world building and thought that goes into these. The fact that these mistborn or allomancers can use metals to enhance certain abilities. Let alone all the religions that are in this one and how they all seem to connect here or there while being so different. The wonderful thing is I’m never bored with these books. Brandon Sanderson knows exactly how to twist and turn the book so you don’t see what’s coming. If you think you know what is going to happen you are sorely mistaken!! There will probably be some spoilers in this if you didn’t read the first book. So I highly suggest you read the first book!!
The usual characters are back in this book. .. They overthrew the Lord Ruler in the previous book and Elend has been nominated king. He is doubting himself as the Ash is still falling and his people are starving. Oh yah and did I forget to mention an Army or three has just invaded his are and wants to take over Luthadel. Vin and Elend are of course in love in this book however neither one thinks the other is worthy of them. I love the support of the whole Crew in this book. They support Vin and Elend in this book wholeheartedly. I loved seeing the camaraderie of the team, I loved how Sazed came back and some of the twists that happened!!
I can’t even explain the twists and turns that take place in this book . The doubt planted into Vin’s mind was crazy.. I can’t believe she actually doubted herself. I fell in love with her Kandra. I actually had super high hopes for Zane he was adorable in a psycho kind of way. I was hoping he would redeem himself in the end…(sorry spoiler) WTH is going on with Marsh. I mean I guess I’ll find out in the next book. OMG the deaths in this book crap the tears that happened sucked.
Anyways I highly suggest this series yes the books are huge but honestly I don’t feel like they were that long. The writing is unbelievable!! My version of this book was 756 pages!
Book blurb and stuff!
The impossible has been accomplished. The Lord Ruler – the man who claimed to be god incarnate and brutally ruled the world for a thousand years – has been vanquished. But Kelsier, the hero who masterminded that triumph, is dead too, and now the awesome task of building a new world has been left to his young protégé, Vin, the former street urchin who is now the most powerful Mistborn in the land, and to the idealistic young nobleman she loves.
As Kelsier’s protégé and slayer of the Lord Ruler she is now venerated by a budding new religion, a distinction that makes her intensely uncomfortable. Even more worrying, the mists have begun behaving strangely since the Lord Ruler died, and seem to harbor a strange vaporous entity that haunts her.
Stopping assassins may keep Vin’s Mistborn skills sharp, but it’s the least of her problems. Luthadel, the largest city of the former empire, doesn’t run itself, and Vin and the other members of Kelsier’s crew, who lead the revolution, must learn a whole new set of practical and political skills to help. It certainly won’t get easier with three armies – one of them composed of ferocious giants – now vying to conquer the city, and no sign of the Lord Ruler’s hidden cache of atium, the rarest and most powerful allomantic metal.
As the siege of Luthadel tightens, an ancient legend seems to offer a glimmer of hope. But even if it really exists, no one knows where to find the Well of Ascension or what manner of power it bestows.
