Love Struck (Miss Match #2) by Laurelin McGee

3.5 Eli is adorable stars!

Love Struck

This story was really cute… I liked the plot basis behind it.  I loved, loved, loved the songs written through out the book.  In case you were wondering Eli and Lacy are both songwriters/singers/band members.   I loved picturing in my mind them hurrying up to grab pen/paper/napkin to jot down lyrics.  Lacy is having a serious problem writing her new album.  She has had something tragic happen and she seems to have writer’s block.  She only seems to have one friend who know’s depe down what is going on.  Could there be more to this friend she has no clue since they never have actually met.  See she is on an anonymous singer/songwriter sight.  Could there be more to this online relationship?? Lacy is feeling a little lost in life then all of a sudden gets the chance to tour with a great new up and coming band.  Of course all the band members are super attractive but it’s just one guy who catches her attention.  While sparks may be flying with her tour mate she is unsure if she should go forward with him while her online partner awaits…

Eli is the songwriter for the band and while he doesn’t mind that Jax is taking all the credit he does mind if Jax takes his girl.. Wait.. she’s not his girl because he might be in love with someone from online.  Eli was probably my favorite character in this whole book.  He didn’t’ seem to stray from who he was deep down very much.  He’s honestly a good guy who lets his band/best friend walk all over him.  He is honest with everyone around him.  Of course he is attractive… so that doesn’t hurt.  I love, love, love the scene were he finds out who his online “friend” really is.  I could see it plain as day in my head.   I also thoroughly enjoyed the bands ongoing joke about the line “That’s what she said” which was so funny.

I wish I could’ve connected more towards Lacy.  She comes off in the beginning as super depressed and not connected to the world.  Then all of a sudden she’s like a sex kitten who pounces on the first guy she sees.  That just didn’t vibe for me… I enjoyed the scenes where she would lay it out on the line for Eli and he would listen and tell her what happened was bullshit (I’m trying for no spoilers). Eli was amazing.. practically perfect in every way. All in all it was a really cute read…

SHE’S GETTING INTO THE GROOVE
Lacy Dawson is a young singer-songwriter with a record deal, a studio gig, and a serious case of writer’s block. Thanks to one mysterious member who motivates her and inspires her, Lacy’s career is back on track. But is she ready to meet her sexy musical muse…face to face?HE MAKES HER HEART SKIP A BEAT
Eli is definitely interested in hooking up with Lacy, aka “LoveCoda.” But between writing her new album and his band’s success, they can’t find the time to face the music-or each other-about their burgeoning online romance. All that changes when Eli and Lucy get booked on tour together. In person, the attraction is all too real and explosive. They both should walk away, but once they are in each other’s arms, there is no turning back…
