Nobody But You (Cedar Ridge#3), by Jill Shalvis

5 welcome back Jacob stars!

Nobody

I was so excited to get my hands on this book but I knew I would have to wait for a day that I could read it all day long.  Did you ever buy a book from an author you love, just because when you know you finally get to sit down with it a smile will stay on your face and sigh will escape your lips at the end?  That’s how I felt about this book..Jill Shalvis is on my list of auto buy authors.  She has great relate-able characters, and enough swoon worthy moments to make up a great romantic read! Onto the book!!

Jacob has finally returned home after leaving without saying goodbye to most of his family.  If you have read the previous Cedar Ridge books you know he has a twin Hud and his mom Carrie is not all the time with it.   Hud and Jacob had words after graduation and Jacob left for the Army.  He is returning to Cedar Ridge after a mission goes awry… maybe hoping he can just slip back into the fold with the Kincaids.  There are a lot of trust issues between Jacob and his fellow brother’s and sisters.  You see Hud has been trying to track Jacob for years to make sure he is ok.  Jacob will not return his emails, texts, or etc.  Jacob was a complex character feeling he was always the only one responsible for being young and dumb and saying stupid things. He is unsure how to get back into the fold or even apologize for what he’s done.  However the good thing about the Kincaids is they forgive rather easily.

Oh Sophie.. poor, poor Sophie.  She is living on a boat that she hates and literally makes her sick just because it was the only thing she could take out of the divorce that would get her A**hole ex back for all he had done.  She is finally getting her crap together or at least trying to.  Sophie has no where to park this stupid boat so she ties to a dock she know’s is vacant.  However the cabin and dock are no longer vacant they are taken up by super sexy Jacob. She has been through the emotional ringer but you can see the fierceness and spirit in her from the beginning.  (even if she is a little seasick) I loved her spunk and attitude!

Here’s a little excerpt.

“Sophie.” He pressed his forehead to hers. “You don’t need to worry about me.”

“No you have to promise.” she said with a level of urgency that him cuddling her to him and giving her what she wanted.

“I promise,” he said

“You promise not to fall for me,” she said seriously.”No matter how lovable I am?”

He wanted to smile at that but didn’t want her to think he was making fun. She wanted his word, and he could give it easily enough, confident that as adorably sexy as she was, he could refrain from falling for her, since his heart felt dead in his chest. “I promise.”

AH! all the good romantic feels…I highly suggest you go out and buy a Jill Shalvis book now!

After an overseas mission goes wrong, Army Special Forces officer Jacob Kincaid knows where he must go to make things right: back home to the tiny town of Cedar Ridge, Colorado. All he needs to scrub away his painful past is fresh mountain air, a lakeside cabin, and quiet solitude. But what he discovers is a gorgeous woman living on a boat at his dock.

Sophie Marren has nowhere else to go. She’s broke, intermittently seasick, and fighting a serious attraction to the brooding, dishy, I’m-too-sexy-for-myself guy who’s now claiming her dock. Something about Jacob’s dark intensity makes her want to tease—and tempt—him beyond measure. Neither one wants to give any ground . . . until they realize the only true home they have is with each other.
