Hello everyone! How was your weekend? Mine was normal… or as normal as it can get with kiddos and pets. I cleaned, I read, I ran munchkins to birthday parties or what they needed. My husband did build my TBR shelves which are fabulous! I’m so happy to have my TBR books off the floor. He’s so good at building things.. he built my reading room shelves so well he may have to build them all over the house. I’ll put a picture right below of my reading room 😉
My big round chairs turn all the way around so I can get the best light or angle so nice! Maybe after I clean them up some I’ll share my TBR shelves next week 😀
So onto my monthly wrap up I guess! Last month I read total of 9 books which was not my best but not my worst month. I’m trying not to get to caught up in numbers but I like to read 3 books a week if I can. I sometimes forget that the bigger the book the longer it takes.. In no particular order are the books I read in March.
-
A Daring Sacrifice (An Uncertain Choice #2) by Jody Hedlund – I gave this book 5 stars! I absolutely loved the take on the girl being Robin Hood instead of the guy!! It is a christian romance however I didn’t feel it was too over the top.
-
City of Stairs (The Divine Cities #1), by Robert Jackson Bennett – I gave this book 3 stars. While this premise is really awesome I just feel maybe his writing style isn’t for me. It included a lot of information dumping and I just am not into that.
-
The Short Second Life of Bree Tanner (Twilight 3.5),by Stephenie Meyer – I gave this book 3 stars also, while it was nice to be back into the Twilight world. (Yes I do like Twilight) I feel it may have been to long in between me reading the original and reading this novella.
-
Me Before You, by Jo Jo Moyes – I gave this book 5 stars! So many feels with this book I couldn’t decide if I was happy or sad… or I just wasn’t sure. There is so much in this book.. I highly recommend it.
-
Rescued, by Stephanie St. Klaire – I gave this book 3.5 stars! This book was Stephanie St. Klaire’s debut author and I really enjoyed it. It was a suspenseful/mystery romance. It took me a little bit to get into her writing style but once I did it was really good.
-
Lady Midnight (Dark Artifices #1), by Cassandra Clare – I gave this book 5 stars! I am wondering if I will ever tire of the shadow hunter series? I adored The Infernal Devices trilogy and enjoyed the Mortal Instruments but The Dark Artifices series may be some serious competition for TID.
-
The Interestings, by Meg Wolitzer – I gave this book 4 stars! While I don’t thing Meg Wolitzer’s writing style is for everyone I really enjoyed this book. It goes back and forth from character to character over time. How friendships evolve and what consequences come of past actions.
-
Kindred Spirits, by Rainbow Rowell – I gave this book 5 stars! Oh Rainbow Rowell I can never get enough of her writing. Adult or YA… this book is definitely YA genre. It’s super short only like 50 or so pages but I enjoyed every minute of it.
-
City of Blades, by Robert Jackson Bennett – I gave this book 4 stars! Maybe I got used to his writing style but I preferred the characters in this book more than City of Stairs.
What did you read in March? What is your TBR for April??
