4 loving the women empowerment feel stars!!

RAT

I have seen this graphic novel going around book tube often.  I happen to know someone who collects comics and graphic novels.  Low and behold he had a copy, so I took it!!  I was unsure what to expect when I dived into this graphic novel.  I was hoping for some strong kick ass female characters and I received a lot more than that!

I think Violet is my favorite I may amend that statement when I read the second novel however as it stands she is super kick ass and I adore her.  This doesn’t start off as a here are these characters and their back stories. It’s more of lets drop you into the middle of their story so you can see for yourself how they are!.These four ladies are so full of sass and witty come backs.  I love how they all have different body shapes and are confident in their bodies.  I do realize none of them are quite wholly human but it does send a good empowerment message to the ladies.  I don’t really want to tell much of this story because well it would ruin it.  This story has it all… 😀

RAT 2rat 3

I hate to put this on here but these graphic novels are not suited for young children.. there is heavy violence, sexual innuendos… etc.

novel blurb..

Paperback, 128 pages
Published April 8th 2014 by Image Comics (first published March 26th 2014)
Original Title Rat Queens, Vol. 1: Sass & Sorcery
ISBN1607069458 (ISBN13: 9781607069454)
Who are the Rat Queens?

A pack of booze-guzzling, death-dealing battle maidens-for-hire, and they’re in the business of killing all god’s creatures for profit.

It’s also a darkly comedic sass-and-sorcery series starring Hannah the Rockabilly Elven Mage, Violet the Hipster Dwarven Fighter, Dee the Atheist Human Cleric and Betty the Hippy Smidgen Thief. This modern spin on an old school genre is a violent monster-killing epic that is like Buffy meets Tank Girl in a Lord of the Rings world on crack!
