The Billionaire Bachelor, by Jessica Lemmon

5 Reese won over my heart stars!

bachelor

Who doesn’t want a sexy, smoldering hot, frozen hearted billionaire for their own??? Merina would be the answer…. that is until she slowly melts his frozen heart….

I have to say real quick that this cover is gorgeous!! I don’t know who came up with the man fixing his cuff link but bravo!  Also the color scheme… ah… I love great book covers 😀

This is a book about an business arrangement (aka marriage)  between Reese and Merina so they both can get what they want.  Reese needs a wife to play down his playboy image to make the board appoint him CEO.  Merina wants her hotel back that Reese has just recently bought and decided to remodel.  So Reese decides that he will give Merina the Van Heusen back if she will agree to marry him for 6 months.

Ok so at the start of this book I really disliked Reese… I kind of wanted to smack him across the face.  I felt so bad for Merina her life is falling apart and he is basically only thinking of himself.  Jessica Lemmon did a really good job on making it seem like he was a hard ass.  It took some time to start seeing the cracks in his hard exterior.  You see under that hard man facade that Reese has been hurt deeply. A woman in his past made him despise entanglements.  Reese has become really good at blowing off women after one date, then Merina comes along and while he knows she can play the part of wife but he doesn’t realize how much he comes to rely on her as a partner and friend. His bond with his father and brothers was adorable.  I’m not sure that’s how the manly Reese would like that described… but they get each other without saying much.

Merina wears her heart on her sleeve.  I would say she is the type of woman that does what needs to be done, yet would apologize to a chair when bumping into it.  Her whole life was built around the Van Heusen hotel. She grew up there and can’t imagine her life any other way.  Yes it is a relic of a building but that’s what gives it character.  Unlike the Crane hotels that are sterile and modern with no character.  Once she finds out that Crane has bought her parents hotel  she demands that he give it back! Their first meeting is priceless I absolutely loved the door knob.  (such a great story piece). Oh and one of my favorite parts of the book includes Merina telling a certain woman off.  She does it in such a classy and awesome way I almost screamed out loud.  Watch for that part it is awesome!!!

The creativity and depth made with these characters was so refreshing!  I was rooting out loud for them to end up together.  I wasn’t sure a couple times that it was going to happen even though it was an HEA book.

Well done Jessica Lemmon another book that blew me away! Thank you to Netgalley, Forever Publishing and Jessica Lemmon for the ARC in return for my honest opinion.

Indecent Proposal

Manwhore. That’s what the board of directors-and the tabloids-thinks of billionaire bachelor Reese Crane. Ordinarily he couldn’t care less, but his playboy past is preventing the board from naming him CEO of Crane Hotels. Nothing-and no one-will keep him from his life’s legacy. They want a settled man to lead the company? Then that’s exactly what he’ll give them.

Merina Van Heusen will do anything to get her parents’ funky boutique hotel back-even marry cold-as-ice-but-sexy-as-hell Reese Crane. It’s a simple business contract-six months of marriage, absolute secrecy, and the Van Heusen is all hers again. But when sparks fly between them, their passion quickly moves from the boardroom to the bedroom. And soon Merina is living her worst nightmare: falling in love with her husband . .
