I was tagged by the lovely Anne @ Inked Brownies! Have you checked out her blog???!!! Yous should it is simply amazing! This tag was created by the ever fantastic Drew @The Tattooed Book Geek . Drew has a top notch blog, so you should go check that out immediately. This tag is to show off your favorite genre, what book got you into that genre, what book would you recommend to someone just starting out in that genre. All in all it’s just a fun tag!!
The Rules:
- Credit the bad ass Drew @The Tattooed Book Geek as the creator of the tag, either use the created tag name graphic or create your own and link back to his blog
- Answer the questions
- Tag as many people as you want
The Questions…
What is your favorite Genre? I don’t think I have a favorite, but I started with romance and keep going back to it.
Who is your favorite author from that genre? You are killing me Drew… I’m going with Jill Shalvis!! Although there are plenty she is definitely my favorite I recommend her to everyone..I even got her to sign a book for me at Nora Roberts Turn the Page bookstore. She is so sweet and kind, her husband and my husband hit it off 😉
What is it about the genre that keeps pulling you back? This genre is always good for a quick escape. No heavy plots, realistic characters (in most romance books), it teaches me how to listen, be kind, give more to others. I know crazy you can get that just from a romance book. If it is well written you always learn something new in each book.
What is the book that started your love for your favorite genre? I want to say Nora Roberts Montana Sky. It wasn’t the first romance book I read, however it is the one I will re-read every year. Nora Roberts is queen of romance writing, I have also met her multiple times and she is beyond sweet and kind.
If you had to recommend at least one book from you favorite genre to a non-reader/someone looking to start that genre, what book would you choose and why?
Uhm as listed above… I would pick a Jill Shalvis book probably Simply Irresistible since it is my favorite book in her Lucky Harbor series. I ❤ Jax
Why do you read? I think I read for the same reason most of us do. To escape reality even for a bit at a time. I mean who doesn’t want to be the strong kick butt hero or heroine for a little while. The person overcoming every obstacle set before them?

Ooh, colour me a little surprised! 😀 Romance and I are usually a poor match, but maybe I just told myself that and it’s not really the case? Because I’m getting excited to read Nora Roberts now!
Quick escapes are fabulous. Thank you for the shout-out! 😀

Boom! Great to see a different genre popping up for this tag… 🙂 There’s been quite a few Fantasy’s and Psy Thriller… not that it’s bad… because I’m leaning towards one of those as well, but I’m STILL trying to make my mind up 😀
So, yes, loved seeing something different here 🙂 I think I’ve ever read one Nora Roberts book.. back when I was… well, younger… she definitely writes well!

She does I went on a binge for a while had to buy every book written by her. Now my house looks like a Nora Roberts/ J.D. Robb museum haha!

Thanks for the tag, I’ll try to complete it in next few weeks:) I was a die-hard Nora Roberts fan for her standalones until about 5 Years ago and then her writing seemed to go down in quality for me.

I know me too.. I don’t know what happened but the style and plot lines weren’t up to normal Nora”ness”

exactly! It’s like she recycled the same type of storyline and put it into the same formula. I kind of felt that she lost her writing “passion” somewhere along the way.
