This is My Genre, Tell Me Yours Book Tag

 

I was tagged by the lovely Anne @ Inked Brownies!  Have you checked out her blog???!!! Yous should it is simply amazing!  This tag was created by the ever fantastic Drew @The Tattooed Book Geek . Drew has a top notch blog, so you should go check that out immediately. This tag is to show off your favorite genre, what book got you into that genre, what book would you recommend to someone just starting out in that genre. All in all it’s just a fun tag!!

The Questions…

What is your favorite Genre? I don’t think I have a favorite, but I started with romance and keep going back to it.

Who is your favorite author from that genre? You are killing me Drew… I’m going with Jill Shalvis!! Although there are plenty she is definitely my favorite I recommend her to everyone..I even got her to sign  a book for me at Nora Roberts Turn the Page bookstore. She is so sweet and kind, her husband and my husband hit it off 😉

 

 

What is it about the genre that keeps pulling you back?  This genre is always good for a quick escape. No heavy plots, realistic characters (in most romance books), it teaches me how to listen, be kind, give more to others. I know crazy you can get that just from a romance book.  If it is well written you always learn something new in each book.

What is the book that started your love for your favorite genre? I want to say Nora Roberts Montana Sky.  It wasn’t the first romance book I read, however it is the one I will re-read every year.  Nora Roberts is queen of romance writing, I have also met her multiple times and she is beyond sweet and kind. 

If you had to recommend at least one book from you favorite genre to a non-reader/someone looking to start that genre, what book would you choose and why?

Uhm as listed above… I would pick a Jill Shalvis book probably Simply Irresistible since it is my favorite book in her Lucky Harbor series.  I ❤ Jax

Why do you read? I think I read for the same reason most of us do. To escape reality even for a bit at a time. I mean who doesn’t want to be the strong kick butt hero or heroine for a little while. The person overcoming every obstacle set before them?
