Ringing in the New Year Book Tag

I was tagged by Heather @ The Sassy Book Geek to do this tag. She has quite an amazing blog so if you haven’t checked it out yet, I highly suggest it.  Onto the tag!!

Best book/series you’ve read in 2016??

Really?? How can a tag ask a question like this??  Okay…uhm…. best…

This duology kept me on the edge of my seat, and I just wanted to instantly re-read it after putting it down.  I highly suggest it…

Authors that you’ve recently found and would like to read more of in the new year.

Oh my I don’t even know where to begin… I’ll just slap some pictures below of my favorite new finds this year.

Most anticipated book turned TV/Movie show.

I honestly don’t know how to answer this one.  I can’t think of one that I would really want to go see… I think I would see A Monster Calls, maybe if I was in the mood for it.  The book broke my heart so I don’t know if I could watch the movie.

Name a character that you wouldn’t mind sharing a kiss with at midnight.

Well if I didn’t have a husband I would have to pick…Jax from Simply Irresistible by Jill Shalvis.  I always go back to this book, he was one of my very first “book boyfriends”.  I adore him and his big heart.  I’m not going to lie his hotness doesn’t hurt 😉

What on my TBR for 2017?

To be honest… a little bit of everything!! lol I don’t even know where to start.  I am trying this year to not take so many author/publisher requests and do more of my own TBR.  I think close up to the front of my list are the following…

How many books do you plan to read in 2017?

I set the goal of 125 books this year.  I tend to read between 120-135 books a year depending on the year and such.  So I think 125 is doable, I try not to stress over reading goals.

Will you participate in the Goodreads reading challenge or any other?

I do set up my Goodreads challenge only to see  how I am doing throughout the year. If I don’t hit my goal it’s A-okay by me.  I also try to keep up with a FB group a follow called Bitches with Books they usually have a reading challenge but I always forget to check off what I’m reading and by the end of the year I never know if I hit it or not!

Any New Year’s resolutions (bookish, blogging, or otherwise)?

Good lord I would love to get better at blogging but alas I think I’m at a stale mate for now.  I have told myself I will not take on as many publisher/author requests every month from now on and try to just read my own TBR.  I noticed a lot last year I was putting off books I wanted to read to read for publishers.  Don’t get me wrong I feel unbelievably blessed to be able to get advanced books to read but I have a hard time saying no.  Now I have decided to limit myself every month to a certain number of books to review that aren’t my own.

Time to TAG!! (if you have already done this or don’t want too then don’t)

      1. Oh maybe it was a colouring book I saw, I honestly didn’t look into it just saw her name and a book cover. But now that I think about it the cover does seem like a colouring book haha.

  1. Thanks for doing the tag Debby and I loved reading all of your answers!
Definitely agree that Six of Crows was amazing although I still need to read Crooked Kingdom!
A Monster Calls is really one of the only book/movie adaptations I’m looking forward too and the book broke my heart too so I need to prepare myself for many tears.
I also have The Name of the Wind and Half Bad on my TBR as well although I may not get to them this year.
Also 125 books is an impressive goal, holy crap! I’m lucky if I read 70 books in a year and that’s including graphic novels! Although I agree it’s definitely important not to stress over over reading goals! 🙂
