Blind dates? Online dating profiles? Been there, done that.

Georgia Cummings has zero luck with dating, and the era of the internet is not her friend.
No matter how fast she runs, how many corners she turns, she can’t find her way out of this weird, alternate universe where men think dick pics are a replacement for small talk and getting to know a girl. One more crotch selfie and she might write men off for good…

But why can’t she stop fantasizing about him?

Kline Brooks is the quintessential billionaire bad boy—dark, styled, short hair, muscles for days, and a panty-dropping smile.
Except—he isn’t.

As his employee, he won’t touch her with a ten foot pole.
But she won’t touch him either.

Too bad their hormones missed the memo

 My Review….

I am so unbelievably glad I gave Max Monroe another chance.  This book was soooo good, the chemistry was off the charts of course but it was the funny moments that made it even better.  They really know how to put their characters in some hilarious situations.

Georgia as a character is wonderful; I loved how innocent yet strong willed she was.  I think that was in part to having grown up in the family that she did.  I loved the dynamic between her and her brother, especially when Cassie was involved.  I just have to say also it was really nice to see a good female friendship in a book not one where females were tearing each other down at every corner.  Cassie has her back no matter what even though they are complete and total opposites.  I loved the nicknames that Georgia and Kline gave each other in this book.  It would be really interesting to be in the brainstorming room with the authors and see how they come up with these!

Kline was a really interesting character because in the beginning he comes off as a brooding, intimidating.. CEO just like he should.  However behind the scenes when you see him with his friends he is unbelievably down to earth.  I thoroughly enjoyed the bromance in this book, I’m not even sure if that’s a real word but I’m going to use it.  These guys are so close and I really liked that because as much as they pick at each other they really needed each other.  While Kline does do one regretful thing in this book because it wouldn’t be a romance novel without a little angst, he is probably the sweetest guy around.  He is soooo sweet to Georgia I’m surprised she didn’t pinch herself daily to make sure he wasn’t a figment of her imagination.

I can’t forget a honorable mention for the cat 😀 like I have said a thousand times, if you put a pet in the book I am in!!  However this cat just took the cake, he was the best, the way he won over Georgia right away while hating Kline.  That was hysterical 😀  Overall I can’t wait to dive into book two in this series however I’m told I have to read the novella’s in between to get the whole story so I’ll do that first!

  1. Funnily enough the name Max Monroe came up on my radar today and I’m like: who? This one sounds like a good read and I appreciate your review. I do find that sometimes you have to give an author another chance, especially of you’ve like their books in the past.

    1. Yes this author came highly recommended to me by another blogger… and did not disappoint. They are a little on the strange side but I don’t mind that because the family dynamic that the author created is much deeper than anything else 😄 I hope you give this author a go!

      1. I don’t have it for the simple reason that I currently have reading coming out of my ears (it’s very uncomfortable, I wouldn’t suggest it ha) and can’t legitimately defend the expense. Athough I’ve heard there’s a free trial…but then again….time. lol
