He’s tantalizing trouble she can’t resist…

Charlotte Parrish has always wanted a certain kind of man: someone responsible, settled, boring. Bad boys need not apply. But when her car leaves her stranded and a mysterious stranger with brooding eyes and a protective streak comes to her rescue, she can’t deny how drawn she is to him. In town searching for family he’s never met, Mitch is everything she never thought she wanted—and suddenly everything she craves.

Finding his half brothers after all these years is more than Mitch Crews has allowed himself to wish for. Finding love never even crossed his mind…until he meets Charlotte. She’s sweet, warmhearted, sexier than she knows—and too damn good for an ex-con like him. But when his past comes back to haunt him, putting Charlotte—and the family he’s come to care for—in danger, Mitch isn’t playing by the rules. He’s already surrendered his heart, but now he’ll risk his life.

My Review..

This book hit me right in the feels, it was all about family, blood family or not blood family.  The family that Ros has already built up in Brodie and Jack is quite amazing.  Then how it has grown with the first two books with Ronnie, Mary, and their added on families.  Oh, and the pets really are the whole story, I could read all day about the pets.  Howler will always be my favorite, but I am thinking as of right now Brute is pulling up a close second.  Lori Foster always creates a whole family dynamic that you would want to be instantly adopted into.

Anyone who has read the first two books has of course been waiting for Charlotte’s book.  If you haven’t read the first two no worries this can of course be read as a standalone, however I highly suggest reading the first two! Charlotte is quite an amazing character, while she does have a little bit of a tragic background, she was lucky enough to be raised by Ros and have pseudo brother’s in Brodie and Jack.  However, with having these larger than life brothers come some consequences.  No one can get near her to date her in their tiny little town without getting their lives threatened.  I love her fiery spirit, and how organized she is.  It’s really sweet to see how much she is alike with Ros even though she’s not blood related.  It’s nice getting more insight into her character because I read the first two books but was really interested in getting to know her more.  She turned out to be more honest and open than I was expecting.

Mitch was a great character to be introduced to this series.  I was really unsure of his motives at first in the book, but you find out really fast that he just wants to let his family know he exists and that’s it.  Of course, Ros has different ideas and immediately takes him like he is one of her own.  He’s really guarded about his past because he doesn’t think anyone should share that burden which in all honesty is really sweet, but he obviously doesn’t understand this family very well.  I love how the brothers warn him off Charlotte at first, but Mitch already was planning on taking it super slow. (because Lori Foster does slow burn romance) He is so much more like Jack and Brodie than he realizes, and I think it’s cute that he thinks he isn’t.

I really couldn’t find fault with this last book in the trilogy, unless there is another one coming I don’t know about 😉 It was a slow burn romance which I love, not to steamy, the women get to stand up for themselves, lots of pets, great male characters, fantastic old cars… what did I miss?   I would really recommend these books…

Thank you to Lori Foster, HQN Books, and NetGalley for an advanced copy in lieu of my honest review.

  1. I love when a series ends well like it sounds like this one did. Every time I read one of your reviews for her books I think that I need to pick up another of her books. I enjoyed the ones I read before. Great review!
