He’s a player in more ways than one…

College junior John Logan can get any girl he wants. For this hockey star, life is a parade of parties and hook-ups, but behind his killer grins and easygoing charm, he hides growing despair about the dead-end road he’ll be forced to walk after graduation. A sexy encounter with freshman Grace Ivers is just the distraction he needs, but when a thoughtless mistake pushes her away, Logan plans to spend his final year proving to her that he’s worth a second chance.

Now he’s going to need to up his game…

After a less than stellar freshman year, Grace is back at Briar University, older, wiser, and so over the arrogant hockey player she nearly handed her V-card to. She’s not a charity case, and she’s not the quiet butterfly she was when they first hooked up. If Logan expects her to roll over and beg like all his other puck bunnies, he can think again. He wants her back? He’ll have to work for it. This time around, she’ll be the one in the driver’s seat…and she plans on driving him wild.

My Review…

Oh my goodness, I wasn’t sure if Elle Kennedy could do it again.  I thought maybe this book would have second book slump for sure.  She totally freshened it up with John Logan that’s for sure.  Logan as he is referred to by his friends since there are two John’s on the team.  Is in his own head his Junior year and can’t seem to get out of it, until he mistakenly knocks on Grace’s door.  At first he is all out to make up to her for what he did when they first met, then he realizes that he actually likes her.  Getting to know Logan better in this book was an eye opener, I wouldn’t have guessed that he had that much going on behind the scenes.  I adored his giant gestures for Grace to win her back and his willingness to go the extra mile for her was amazing.

Grace was little but fierce and I enjoyed every second of it.  I loved how she babbled especially about serial killers.  How when Logan screwed up she made him a list to complete before forgiving him at all.  Whenever her friend let her down in a huge way she didn’t forgive her she let her earn her trust back little by little.  She loves with her whole heart so that when it breaks it breaks the whole way.  When she comes back from hiatus she seems open to more new possibilities, new friends, new job, etc.

The growth in the characters in these books seems a little bit more than normal and I really am enjoying how developed they are.  The plot lines seem a little more thought out and well put together, they aren’t just jerky jocks and emotional girls.  There is a lot of depth and pain behind these characters and I’m just overall really invested on where this team is going.

“Seriously, Grace, don’t stress. You know what they say- haters be hating, and bitches be bitching.”

I laugh again. “that’s going to be my new motto.”

“Good. It should be”
