“When I kissed you last night, I wasn’t pretending.”

Everly Dalton is a walking, talking, martini-drinking dating disaster. Forget kissing frogs. She can’t even get past the first date. But at work, she’s a badass—the longest-running assistant billionaire Shepherd Calloway has ever had. Her coworkers wonder how she handles the big bad wolf—and never gets bit.

Shepherd Calloway isn’t interested in being anyone’s sugar daddy. Tired of women who only want him for his money, he swears off dating, determined to focus on running his empire. Until his gold-digging ex hits him where it hurts, putting him in a difficult position.

His solution—to have Everly pose as his live-in girlfriend—is obviously crazy. But the timing is uncanny. It just so happens Everly needs a favor from her boss—a big and awkward one—and this could ensure everyone gets what they want.

Besides, Everly can totally survive a few months of faux romance.

Except there’s a problem. Shepherd is supposed to be a single-minded, unemotional robot boss. Not an actual human with a heart and morning wood. Between the awkward bed-sharing and tingly fake dates, lines are blurring. And as Everly gets to know the real Shepherd, she discovers there’s more to the man behind the bank account.

And faking it gets all too real.

Faking Ms. Right is a hot, STAND-ALONE romantic comedy.

My Review…

This is labeled as a romantic comedy; however I feel like it was less comedy and more serious.  These two have worked together for 3 years yet do not seem to know one another very well.  That aspect was very intriguing.  It was as if they would trust each other with any implicit detail of their life but didn’t know intimate details.  Every chapter brought back a new layer to each character and I found that very refreshing.

I really enjoyed Everly’s character just because she was so upbeat and loved everyone around her.  She didn’t find a person she couldn’t befriend.  You could really tell a lot about her from the beginning how she is a very giving person because she seems to bend over backwards for everyone else.  Even how she doesn’t second guess her bosses request to become his fake girlfriend.  Seeing how organized and work oriented she is, then seeing how laid back she is at home and colorful was a neat aspect of the book.  Her very close friendship with her girlfriends was nice and how she called upon them anytime she needed a fresh perspective was great.

Shepard was obviously the more complicated of the two characters, he starts off this whole charade.  He’s supposed to be the stone-cold business man.  However, having her live with him makes him lower his defenses.  Soon he is telling Everly all his secrets, things he doesn’t even tell his family.  Even though things were a little strained with his dad, I cannot get enough of his dad that’s for sure, he was so cute.  Of course he has to not trust everything all the way or it wouldn’t make for a good book.  I liked how his brother was there for him when he needed it the most, I would love a novella with him in it for sure!

Of course, towards the end of this book I realized that the ending of this book was in another one of this author’s books(The Mogul & The Muscle), and I was pleasantly surprised to see it from both angles.

    1. I enjoyed it 😊 I don’t know if I liked it or The Mogul and the Muscle better since those were the two of hers I liked so far. With the Mogul book I was already set up with a group of girlfriends … this book is a start to a series 🤔🤔🤔 in the end yes you would enjoy it lol
